Present

I am a Chilean composer and researcher living in Austria. I came to Vienna to begin a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

2004 - 2009

I lived in Germany for five years, I persued postgraduate studies in composition with composer Theo Brandmüller at the University of Music of Saarland, in Saarbrücken. In these years I wrote chamber music pieces for traditonal instruments like Transfiguraciones de Calostro and Periplosidéreo and electronic music pieces such as Ex-Urbe and Vital.

1999 - 2003

I studied Composition at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile with Chilean composers Alejandro Guarello, Pablo Aranda and Aliosha Solovera. My first "new music" pieces were premiered in Chile and in the United States. Having won the Fondart Prize I was able to record a piece of mine called Fárragoparafrástico on CD.

1980 - 1998

I grew up in Santiago de Chile. I went to school there and as a child I learnt to play the piano, the clarinet, the bass and the guitar. I played in many bands and at the same time I started writing my own songs.
